Revoluton Arts Secures Funding Extension from Arts Council England.

We are thrilled to announce that Revoluton Arts has successfully received an additional year of funding from the Creative People and Places (CPP) programme, supported using public funding through Arts Council England.

Since Revoluton’s inception in 2015 our programme has attracted over 200,000 in-person engagements and over 1.2 million online. Our work has continued to bring together community, grassroots, voluntary and cultural organisations as partners to take the lead in choosing, creating, and taking part in creative and cultural activities that areas local to Luton want and need.

The funding from the CPP provides significant backing for Revoluton Arts to continue with programmes and initiatives that engage the local communities in Luton, allowing Revoluton to work with local artists and creative practitioners to create culturally relevant and community-based work.

CPP funding contributes to the memorable intercultural stories being told, and the creation of relevant community-focused and people-led art programmes by Revoluton Arts. With strategic funding from the CPP, we are able to continue to facilitate creative work from Marsh Farm to Bury Park to Farley Hill and all around Luton.

The CEO & Creative Director of Revoluton Arts, Lindsey Pugh upon receiving the news had this to say; “We are delighted about the news of extension year funding, supporting us to reach more people in more places across the town. We’re excited to continue our work with Lutonians through resident-led programming, in places and spaces beyond the town centre, and through delivery of world class and ambitious events on the streets of Luton.”

About the CPP Extension Programme

Creative People and Places is about more people taking the lead in choosing, creating and taking part in creative and cultural experiences in the places where they live.

Since 2012, there have been over 15 million engagements with the CPP programme and 90% of people who participate in CPP weren’t previously engaging regularly with creativity and culture.

In September 2023 Arts Council England confirmed it would be offering organisations in the 2022-25 Creative People and Places National Portfolio the opportunity to apply for a further year of funding. With CPP projects present in up to 55 local authorities, Arts Council England is investing an additional £11.64 million in the year 2025 – 26, in 38 Creative People and Places programmes; and this brings the total investment in Creative People and Places projects since 2012 to £119.6 Million.
