About
Our young people’s programme is a cultural programme for 16 to 30-year-olds in Luton that aims to:
- celebrate the unique creativity of Luton’s young people
- develop young Lutonians’ creative skills and experience
- encourage young people from across the town to collaborate creatively
- inspire more young people to participate in arts and creativity — whether as an audience member, or a maker or performer.
To do this, we work in collaboration with Luton’s young people to design programmes of events, activities and projects that reflect their unique interests.
We also bring the UK’s leading creative talent to Luton to work with our young people and help shape the programme.
“@revolutonarts is an amazing project that is just giving young people the space to just be.”
— Young People's Programme participant
Case study on our young people's programme
Learn more about the methods and approaches of our young people's programme in this case study written by Dr Ruth Melville.
'Young People’s Familam is a group, but not a ‘group’ — it is explicitly open and accessible to all, avoiding any sense of clique. The structure is explicitly non-hierarchical: Jo isn’t the leader, but “the glue” – sticking people together, and there’s an attitude of listening and saying "yes".'
Case studies on our Young Digital Associates
We’re Revoluton Arts, A Community Interest Company (CIC). Through our training programmes and opportunities we support young people like Ferdusi, Lavz and Tiarnan to nurture their creative interests and build confidence in their abilities.

Ferdusi
Ferdusi is a skilled social media manager and digital strategist who supports young people through her careers curriculum work with schools and businesses. She writes how a chance email to Revoluton Arts not only helped her scratch a creative itch, it led to career opportunities in the arts that she’d never have dreamt of.

Lavz
Lavz is a performer, writer and music producer. We supported her Kickstarter EP launch campaign and provided digital content training that set her up for our Digital Revoluton programme in 2020. She writes how Revoluton Arts provided the support and platform she needed at a time when she wanted to reconnect with her community and local arts scene.

Tiarnan
Tiarnan is an actor, writer and Young Digital Associate. With his first-class presenting skills and digital expertise, he brought his A-game to our lockdown events programme, Digital Revoluton. He writes how his work with Revoluton Arts has helped him grow as a performer and develop skills that will set him up for life - whatever path he chooses.
