August 2024 – March 2025

RAVE NEW WORLD
Marsh Farm
Info
Inspired by the vibrant rave scene of the 80s and 90s, Rave New World was a co-production with Tangled Feet and delved into the history of the Exodus collective, a pioneering group based in Luton’s Marsh Farm.
Whether you were a part of the scene, heard about the legendary parties, or recently discovered Luton’s rave heritage for the first time, Rave New World’s themes resonate deeply today. It asked the question: how can the past inform our futures?
Following a rehearsed reading in October 2024, a gig theatre version in November 2024, and finally a premiere with full production performances in March 2025, Rave New World was a celebration and a call-to-action. This outdoor show featured captivating soundtracks which aimed to inspire a new generation facing societal challenges today.
Rave New World is part of Undercurrent, our creative heritage project that unearths and shares the rich history of activism and music subcultures connected to the River Lea.
