Classical concert — violin and piano
2.30pm–3pm | Zoom & Facebook Live | Free
Presented by Luton-based Sinfonia Verdi — for all ages
Take a moment for reflection and remembrance every Friday afternoon to hear the soaraway sounds of virtuoso musicians from Luton-based Sinfonia Verdi.
This week we have two internationally renowned musicians, violinist Shirley Richards accompanied by horn player and pianist Peter Richards.
Shirley graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and went on to become a member of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. From there she decided to pursue her career as a freelance player and teacher and has played with many of the orchestras and ensembles in the North West.
Peter began his musical training as a choirboy at Westminster Abbey and joined the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain playing the horn at the age of 15. After studying at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester he began his professional career as a freelance horn player with many orchestras and ensembles in the UK. In his other life he is active as a pianist and accompanist especially with his wife Shirley and spends much time composing and arranging music, even more than normal during this lockdown.
