This event is open to anyone aged 13 years+, interested in the art of calligraphy and keen to learn or develop a new skill.

The workshop will introduce participants to traditional Arabic calligraphy and explore its links to Islamic artistic heritage. There will be an opportunity to use classical tools and learn about both the theoretical and practical elements of calligraphy.

Discover the depths of traditional forms of creativity and uncover pathways to their cultural and spiritual significance – a perfect way to prepare for Ramadan.

Suitable for budding calligraphers of all abilities or to anyone interested in learning a new skill. In this introductory workshop you will:

·        Learn about the history and techniques of Islamic calligraphy.

·        Have a go at creating Arabic script yourself.

·        Learn from reputable artist Nadia Hussain.

This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to learn the beautiful art form of Arabic calligraphy.

How old do I have to be to participate:

Open to anyone aged 13 years+

 

Do I have to be Muslim to attend?

No, all are welcome.

Light refreshments will be provided.
