About VaVaZoom

VaVaZoom is an illustrated book that tells the story of Revoluton Arts' response to the coronavirus pandemic that took hold in the UK in March 2020.

Faced with taking our entire programme online overnight, this publication documents how our thinking evolved and the struggles we faced both in managing our new normal of working and living in lockdown, and with 'going digital'.

Illustrated conversations

Featuring illustrations by local artist Natalie Eldred, VaVaZoom is based on conversations facilitated and noted by our Critical Friend, Ruth Melville, where our team and artistic collaborators reflect on their experiences and learning during lockdown.

Recognising the need for a space to breathe out and think, share ideas and valued ourselves as creatives, we explored the big questions around our purpose asking:

We called our weekly chats (with tongue firmly in cheek) the 'Revoluton Existential Chat'.
